“I cannot dwell upon
my past, I can only look
with anticipation toward
that which lies ahead
– in my future.”
I am not sure whether it was nature’s true intention or not, but there seems to be a strange dichotomy in life between our past, and our future. For our inability to travel back in time or forward in time – always forces us to live in the present.
Although we may sigh at our inability to do either one or other, I can assure you that this dichotomy exists for good reason. For it forces us to not just savor and appreciate each new present or daily experience in our lives; but to subtly shape and determine, all that we are likely to face in the future.
Today, may you continue to embrace life as it is now, by choosing to live in the now. Make every effort to avoid immersing yourself in that which has already past, or that which is yet to come – by remaining focused and appreciating all that is present in your life.
This way, you can continue to grow; blossom; and learn; from all new experiences – be they past or present. This state of being will help you utilize this knowledge wisely, to create a brand new future for yourself; a future that you can look forward to with anticipation – rather than dwell upon past regret.
